Don't see them trading Portis? For Crowder? By definition Chicago wins the trade by getting a top 10 SF in the NBA who plays both ends very well.
Do you really think Crowder is a top ten SF? I do not and I will name some names who are better or can make a strong case.
LeBron
Melo
Durant
DeRozan
Leonard
Gay
Thad Young
Wiggins
Greek Freak
Paul George
Gallinari
Carroll
Deng
Hayward
Batum
Butler
Korver
I think they fall off their chair laughing when you say top 10 SF. I love your enthusiasm but face it, man, they would laugh you out of the building.
LeBron yes 1
Melo yes 2
Durant yes 3
DeRozan SG
Leonard yes 4
Gay c'mon
Thad Young PF and c'mon
Wiggins I'm this kid's biggest fan, but I'd rather have Crowder for this C's team, Wiggy plays ZERO defense
Greek Freak PG
Paul George yes 5
Gallinari always injured
Carroll c'mon
Deng very debatable
Hayward yes 6
Batum yes, but close 7
Butler was a SG, but slots as SF next year, yes 8
Korver at this point we're name-dropping SGs
So i counted 8 SFs that are noticeably better than Crowder. The rest are either out of position, around the same tier but worse in my opinion, or around the same tier but not fitting the trajectory of the team (Deng, Wiggins, etc.). When you account for Crowder's age, locker-room presence, playing style, and contract, there are only 5 or 6 SFs I'd rather have than him.
Deng should receive the "not a SF" designation as well, with 73% of his minutes coming at the 4.
