I was a fan of his based on summer league play last year.  But he really struggled yesterday. Could not finish.  Could not defend. Could not shoot.  Hoping to chalk it up to rust. He said he was 100% healthy now.

Let's hope we get a better showing in tonight's game.

To be fair, he just returned from a shoulder injury. The rust was expected, and I expect him to do better the next game.

I missed the game, but from the way people are talking, it does sound like he's showed that his rebounding ability needs work.

I know a lot of people, me included, fell in love with his flashes of rim protection with all the blocks that we immediately wanted to give him more minutes, and I suppose I still think that...but outside of his rim protection, the rest of his game (offense, rebounding, etc.) admittedly needs a lot of work.

Last year i spoke in favor of holding down expectations and that CBS had a reason for not giving him minutes. I preached patience.

This year I back with more of the same. Patience please with Mickey. This is only summer league, Mickey needs time to develop.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I was disappointed to hear how poorly he did in his first game back, but he could just be rusty. So I'll give him a pass

You might be right to advise patience, but Mickey was being outplayed by undrafted rookies...and for someone who was last year's D-League MVP, you would expect him to perform a lot better.

He is just so physically weak that I wonder if he'll ever amount to anything. The guy gets engulfed when anyone puts a body on him. It's not just Cooley either, because Portis was manhandling him too. The one trick pony game of weakside shotblocking is nice, but not at the expense of his 0 offensive game and the awful rebounding he provides for his position. Makes me believe we might have been better off trading him for a future 2nd rd pick and using #31 to draft Davis or Zubac in his place.

More too small players at their positions .

Danny continues to draft under sized players

Ruh-roh.

Maybe Stevens doesn't play Mickey because he IS lost.

Mickey didn't look good from an eye test perspective, but he still rebounded well and got some steals and blocks.

I don't think Mickey is really the sort of guy who is likely to look good in a summer league setting.

I still think Mickey could carve out a role as the 4th big in the rotation this year.

Could it conceivably be due to rust combined with coming off an injury?

Honestly, that was one horrendous game yesterday.  One of the worst displays of basketball I have ever seen.  Just about everybody looked terrible so I wouldn't put much stock in anything about that game.

You're right.
They should only draft and play certified all stars.
They need your help to find them though.
