I wanted to extend a congratulations to you 3 young big men. You now have a true professional big man to learn from. Al Horford is the rare combination of a hard-working, versatile big man; with very little weaknesses on either ends of the court.

If or when you are on the roster this year, learn everything you can from him in practice. Watch how he plays, how he communicates, and how he practices. From what I have heard, he is a great teammate (http://grantland.com/the-triangle/al-horford-atlanta-hawks-superstar/) and a true professional.

Look at how he's improved from his weaknesses: http://www.nbadraft.net/players/al-horford
  • He has extended his range to 3pters
  • He's always a threat to score in the post
  • He's reduced his fouls from 3.3 a game down to 2.0 without reducing his minutes

He is proof that hard work will result in improvement. All 3 of you have weaknesses right now, just like he did 9 years ago.

P.S. Jared Sullinger, there is still an open invitation for you to be in this conversation if you choose.

I heard it's tough to learn from Maine/Europe.

Agree with koz. Hard to learn and develop when there's a total of 15 minutes at center and 48 minutes at PF for olynyk, zizic, Mickey, yabusele, Crowder, and very probably others all to share.

I'm sure they are more disheartened than happy about the Horford signing.

It's not hard to learn in practices in which the rookies are brought up for nearly all of them under CBS. Yes, you get better by actually playing in the NBA but don't sleep on watching what a good pro does to make himself good enough to compete with the best of them! It's the reason why players pay good money to train with the best retired players and the reason Minny brought KG in. LBJ is/was at the time the best in the game but he still trained with Hakeem.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

That's nonsense, the youngest frontcourt dudes are not getting much of that minutes pie anyway.  The opportunity to learn from a vet and also have the team benefit as a whole (which will make them better players too as kozlodoev said) far outweighs the minutes argument.

Disagree, if you've played at a level you don't give up when someone better joins team.  You work to knock that guy from loop or at the least gain respect from vets.  4 years of Horford all can learn from him.  Wanted him from his rookie year, good all around team player.
