I get that there were no fireworks, walking away with Jalen Brown and a couple of tEdited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.svillis feels like a huge letdown. Jalen Brown will be a phenomenal NBA talent. Euros not so sure... but we knew it was coming. We also packaged some of those 2nd rounders for 2019 clippers first.

1. Trades of the level talked about are #rare. Obviously Chicago is looking to fleece. I'm ok giving up more value, but it can't be to overall detriment.

2. Kris Dunn, Jalen Brown, Dragan Bender, Murray, Hield.... all these guys were sitting in the same boat. We know who most of them will be. Murray? Great shooter, not a star. Held? Great shooter, not a star. Eventually we came down to Jaylen Brown and Kris Dunn, who got EXTRA hype because people knew Philly wanted him. If we take Dunn and CAN'T move him, then we have intensified the log jam, REQUIRING a trade. Personally I'm happy we didn't take Dunn and trade to philly. I'm also happy we didn't draft him and keep him.

3. Are we really complaining about draft and stash guys? We had 8 picks. If you didn't think 2 or 3 were going to be euro scrubs then you haven't been paying attention.

Brown wasn't a shock at 3, though I preferred Bender.

I expected Ainge to either package some of the later picks to move up in the draft or, if he actually used the picks, to maybe address some of the current imbalances on the roster.

Nope.  The draft changed very little about the roster as it stands, though Brown does address some of the size / athleticism deficiency on the wing.

I'm pretty disappointed that guys like Luwawu and Korkmaz were left on the board, but maybe they never turn into anything.  I can understand passing up traditional bigs like Davis, Diallo, and Onuaku, given that the team already has a few big men on the roster and the NBA has fewer spots for all but the most physically dominant paint-bound bigs.  Still, it would have been nice to meaningfully address the lack of size and athleticism up front.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Why is this so hard for people to understand?  We would have been in the same boat Philly is now with the frontcourt, but in our backcourt.  Can you imagine trading Smart for a couple of 2nd rounders?

Based on reports I was confident that we could come away with Noel or Okafor. Both of whom I would have preferred to Brown. Unfortunately we werent able to move the pick.

Having said that, I dont have any problem with Brown being the pick and I loved the rest of our draft.

Zizic and Yabusele don't address the lack of size and athleticism up front? I'm very happy with those picks.

I expected the team to be better today than yesterday and a more desirable location for a free agent. That didn't happen
