Says the Celtics love the potential of Bender.

As a local reporter, this is pretty reliable intel.  Maybe we are going for Bender after all!!

I honestly think DA is floating different things to different people to keep everyone on there toes. That way any team that wants their man has to go up too #3 to get them.

The way this is presented, it isn't really new info. If Murphy actually had a source saying the C's liked Bender he would have said so. More likely he's referring to Austin Ainge's comments for about a week ago.

Or just another useless mock his boss made him write for the clicks.

"The Celtics love the potential in this 18 year old stretch 4."

That is not a speculation, that is a statement of fact by him in terms of how the Celtics perceive his upside.  That is meaningful new information, particularly in light of reports from Welch last week that Bender had an awful workout in Israel.

At the very least this suggests that Bender is very much in play.

And Murphy certainly will have more daily contact, and relationships, with the Celtic front office than national reporters will.

Woj also mentioned that Bender is one of the final 4 guys Celts are considering.

If a trade is not made, there is a decent chance he will be taken.
