Not every deal has to be a total fleecing - sheep reference number 2. There's nothing wrong with both teams getting better in a trade.

You mean like when Ainge offered 4 first round picks for Winslow last year?

How many of those were actually good picks?

And remember that Ainge has admitted he kind of panicked in an effort to get something done.

It was 4 picks.  That was a clear overpay.

And if he panicked and wanted to get something done... what are you talking about?  That goes completely against your narrative.

I would assume we have a lot of contingency deals set up depending on what people want to do.
yes, which means ainge does his homework and is well prepared heading into the draft.

when boston suggested a trade with charlotte during the draft, their front office was totally unprepared for it and had to reject it. ainge will not allow opportunities to pass the team by due to lack of preparation.

good for him.

I read it that way as well.

Or I hope that's right, anyway.

Read the whole post and try again. There's this troublesome thing called "context." You're out of it.

Depends on the picks. If 16 was the highest one, I'd do that one all day long.

You mean the "context" of talking about completely unrelated circumstances?  Yeah that really enlightened me.

I'm with CoachBo. I was under the impression that it involved the Celtics two firsts that year along with the Atlanta pick (from the supposed Sullinger trade), and the Dallas or Memphis pick. I would have done three mid-to-late firsts and Sully for Winslow all day.

If they can get Millsap for that 3 plus some change, they could almost certainly sign Horford.

I trust Bulpett more than almost anyone else not named Woj.

Me too.

Don't discount Danny's game plan.

I trust him.

He did it in Summer of 2007 and he will most certainly do it again.

Each deal that reportedly falls through in regards to US I'm thankful for - in that it was more than likely a deal that would've asked for too much or given too little.

Stay the course, Danny....all we need is one shoe to drop and the other one will fall.

Just stay the course.

My impression exactly. I love Winslow. That deal would have been a fleecing. We weren't moving great assets in it.
