I agree 1000%. Great athlete. Not a good basketball player.
The best chess athlete in this draft ;)

Has the potential to be a very good slasher. He can get to the line too, averaged 6 FT's per game because of his quick line drives, that's a skill that can translate to the NBA.

Far be it from me to say that Chad Ford doesn't know what he's doing, but it's weird that he forgot that Brown was in foul trouble most of that game. He didn't play well, sure, but you can't forget that one fact.

Also, has he seen what he did vs Virginia, which was an eventual #1 seed? 18 Points and 6 rebounds and got to the FT line 9 times. There's also back to back 20 point games vs Tournament teams in Oregon and Oregon State, . 27 points vs Utah, a Tournament team. 17 and 11 rebounds vs Colorado, a Tournament team.

He's inconsistent in his production, but he's 18. He has room to improve and grow. To say that he's just an athlete when there's clearly evidence that he can be a very good basketball player is weird. How can Chad Ford miss those? He's not just an athlete. He's a raw basketball player with great athleticism, waiting to be developed into a really good basketball player.

This is fairly nitpicky, but Brown is almost 20.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Okay, 20. I didn't realize he was already 20. Still young.

Ford why don't you harp on Simmons and Ingram weaknesses also

Simmons is like a ghost when times get tough. There are rumors about his behaviour off the court/locker room.  Does not finish class (again maybe commitment factor). Can't shoot (worse than Brown).

Ingram is rail thin.  Good athlete but not really explosive (like Jabari Parker)

etc etc

Brown is a competitor.  And he has skills.  The mis step he took, if you can call it that, is that he signed up with Cal.  If played for Kentucky or another better team, the negatives might not look so bold

He has to iron out some edges but he knows how to play imo.     Marquese Chriss as high as upside as he has and I like him alot, has more work to do, to increase his awareness around the court.

I thought Bilas had Bender #3 on his board? When did that change?

Having Bender #3 on his board is not the same as saying he will be the #3 pick.

DraftExpress also has Bender at #3 on their "Top 100" board, but their mock draft expects the Celtics to take Dunn.

Basically, the 'big boards' and 'top rankings' are ordering of how they rank the players.

The mocks are ordering by how they think the teams will select.

There are a lot of rumors that multiple teams want Dunn, but the only way to be certain of getting him looks to be the #3 pick.   That's why multiple mocks are now thinking Dunn will be picked by Danny at #3.  So Danny can trade him.

I guess he updated his board because he now has Bender at #7 and Dunn at #3. Makes me wonder how much of Bender has he actually watched. I think a lot of these guys are just guessing with him.

DraftExpress still has Bender at #3 on their Top 100 ranking.  Updated today (6/21), just before noon:

Givony actually went to Israel to scout him.  I don't know about Bilas.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

I mean I'm glad Brown is (maybe) falling from some people boards but that doesn't mean he's falling from Danny's. I am personally hoping for either Dunn (to keep or trade) or Bender.

Chad Ford is a tool so who cares what he says. There are guys way more plugged in that we can just follow in Twitter, or honestly, just check here. I recommend only watching ESPN when there is an actual game on. Their commentary is awful across the board (except PTI!!!).
