Hard question to answer.  All things being equal , Butler. But they are not.
Butler will cost a minimum of #3, AB and more.
Love coming of a less then stellar season, and assume Cleveland wants him gone should cost much less. I could see getting him and keeping the #3. Maybe a package built around AB and KO.
In that case, I might lean towards Love.

I regret that I have but one vote to give for Butler.  With Love you have to question his offense and defense.  Maybe it is the system, maybe the injuries have taken a step from him.  Who knows.  On defense, he is pretty bad most of the time.  Butler gives you a guy who gets to the line and is a junkyard dog on defense, so I'd go Butler all night and day.

Neither. I'm going to be p---ed if we mortgage our future to satisfy KD when he isn't coming here in the first place.

That's a difficult question.

Butler is definitely the better overall and two-way player, but Love fills MUCH more of a need for us. Love will also come much cheap assets-wise than Butler, so it's difficult to give a real answer to this.
if we can get love without using nets picks, I'm going for love

Not sure if possible

But if we could add love and a good rookie that'd be great

I agree.  Adding Love and the #3 would be a coup, and I'm not a fan of Love.

How would you guys feel if we could nab both Love and Butler this offseason?

Not saying it will happen, but say you make the trade for Butler using #3, etc. (like we all predict)

Then the Cavs realize Love's value is low, and Melo decides to team up with Lebron.

Love goes out of Cleveland, Melo leaves NYK, and the Celtics supply the Knicks with picks (not #3), and some young players, and maybe a future non-Brooklyn pick. I think I would be down for that.

Butler...get serious.

Love is soft, he has some skills...but he's soft.

Since going to Cleveland, poor fit or not, he looks lost. He looks like a guy that doesn't enjoy competing. I need to see a few games where he really shines, where he really takes the game over, before I consider him a guy to spend big dollars on, and build around.

I've always wanted Love, but a Butler can prepare meals, wash clothes, screen calls and drive me around town while I'm looking for Love.

Obviously it depends on the cost but I'd choose Love. I think he fits this team better and they are a comparable level of player. Even if we got Butler we would still need to acquire a high level big man.

Love is marginally better than Ryan Anderson. Seriously look at the numbers...
