Trading for Love would be awful. Wouldn't improve Boston's roster at all or move them closer to a title.

Not possible. You have to waive Johnson and JJ to make the required capspace to sign two max free agents, even if Whiteside is one of them, I believe.

You could maybe keep JJ if Whiteside is one of the max free agents.  (The numbers could or could not work based on a couple hundred thousand dollars, once the exact cap is known.)  But you certainly could not keep Amir.  It'd be very difficult to put together a trade that bring back Love, but not impossible if JJ fits on the roster -- you'd need to add about $3 million in salaries to AB+JJ.  The Mozgov portion requires a sign-and-trade and makes no sense at all in terms of roster construction.

Yeah, I wasn't sure of how Whiteside's contract would work given his experience/career in the league.

I actually think you could technically keep JJ with two Durant/Horford max level contracts, too. If you renounced all of our free agents and traded away all of our first rounders, I believe you'd have around $6M in cap space after signing two 9-year max contracts at around $26M a pop (assuming a $92M cap that is). I think I'm remembering the article and numbers right.

Yes, if you traded away all the first rounders, you might be able to do so, but its no guarantee.  And I don't know why anyone would trade away three firsts to be able to hold onto Jerebko.  I like him, but that's ridiculous.

Love is a bum don't want him and I'd rather draft a player and keep Bradley. I value Bradley and Crowder more then Smart. If you trade anyone, trade Smart n Olynyk.

0% chance that Smart gets traded....  ;)
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

You may be right. But there's more of a 0% chance we sign Durant this summer 😂

Forget trading for a super star, that would cost to much. I say draft a superstar. We have three years to find one and I'd start with Marquese Chriss 👍

Sorry no love for Love! The guy is soft, and a terrible defender. He'll get you stats...but no wins.

Their already planning his relocation, lets not get involved.

I am glad to see a good portion of the board is coming around to seeing that Love is not a difference making star. He hung stats in Minny and lost and lost and lost. He never showed he had two way capabilities but some here were just so enthralled with his PPG, RPG and PER when he was in Minny.

I never wanted him here. I too hope Danny stays far from Love when Cleveland puts up a for sale sign on Love and Irving after getting bounced again by Golden state.
