He got injured after playing 30+ minutes with less than 8 points when the Cs were down 20+ points in the 4th quarter...for the love of God, WHY WAS HE STILL PLAYING ON THE FREAKIN COURT!?!

Looks like a mild ankle sprain. Could be out for Game 6.

In other words, book it.

I don't blame Coach Stevens for leaving IT4 in the game. Basketball is about rhythm and seeing the ball go through the hope for an offensive player struggling. Coach Stevens probably left him in to find that rhythm in preparation for Game 6. Look he came down wrong after making a nice split of the defense. It's basketball, things like that happens. No need to put the blame on Coach Stevens.

of course you blame the coach.  Boston was down 20 and wasn't going to win.  You have to pull your starters.

TP agreed... especially factoring how bad Thomas/ the starters were playing. There was no reason why they should have been on the court.. in fact their benching should have resulted from their poor play.

Eh, hindsight is a bit 20/20.  There was still over 10 minutes to go in the game.  Now, the Celtics weren't going to win the game but you might as well try and get some sort of rhythm to IT4 there then pull him with 6 or more minutes to go. He had been out of it most of the game and in a funk.  I'm not going to blame Stevens for trying to get his star some sort of rhythm.  Especially with that much time left in the game.

Agreed.

Stevens mentioned in the press conference that he had a sub at the table for IT when he was injured (and in the replay you can see Marcus walking to the table).

Stevens put IT out there to start the 4th quarter. You never know what can happen with this team. When they obviously didn't start off with good momentum he put up the white flag 2 minutes in.
