"Sully hater" is another word for those who have seen him limitations his career here. It is what it is, he is good in some areas and bad in others. I have been a strong detractor but I recall guys saying he would be the next Kevin Love, which sometimes he is closer to Kevin James on the court. I have never cared for his lack of discipline but even I admit he has great hands and is a solid rebounder. But some represent him like he is a top ten center, which he is not.
If KO is hurt, we need him even more, I hope if this is the case, we see some Mickey in there too.
Sully can push some guys around, Milsap and Horford are both as strong if not stronger than him. Sully can't bully them. They are better athletes and veterans. I think Sully will have a good game or two in the series.
It is like he runs out of steam recently, though. This is inexcusable. I have always hoped we let him walk, he had a contract year to prove himself. He can play in the league but he is not a star. There are match-ups he is good at, but there are many times he is a liability out there too. I agree there might be a place for him on this team but the price has to be right.
When Ainge negotiates, he should point out how he never met their weight suggestions and he should list his first three seasons where he missed about a quarter of the games. He should also bring up his FG% and 3P% as being low to lower his cost. Then address his conditioning with him. Finish up with what he does well. If he gets mad and walks so be it but I would not pay him more than AB, even if the cap rises.
We can get another big. They might not board as well, but they will probably shoot better, not come into camp fat and be conditioned. I also think, we have seen his best effort this year, it was a contract year. As for free agents, I think that Zaza, Ezeli, Mahini, Biyombo could replace him somewhat and both are solid help defenders and shoot better FG%.
Sully was a no show
He did show in all fairness, in the first quarter, folks. He just wilted.
