What are your takes on him? Ainge does some weird things sometimes in drafts.  He seems to play very fast and with a high motor but not sure how it will translate in the nba.  I've compared him to shawn marion but he doesn't really have the range.  He can definately finish at the rim and get out in transition and plays with a ridiculous motor.

I just am not sure i see it translating to the nba.  A lot of guys like that come out of unc and are very average nba players. Every so often there are guys who slide though who aren't.

Brice has drawn my interest and is up there as  one of those guys who gets ignored in predraft rankings where I'd draft him if I felt a certain way.

He is electric on shot blocks and dunks for sure.

He's a 3/4 in the nba i feel with crazy athletic ability.  I've heard people compare him to john henson but i don't see him as that.  He's crazy athletic. We don't really have that kind of athleticism on this team. Outside of Simmons, Brown and Ingram there aren't many players with his athletic ability this draft.

Reminds me of a young Amir Johnson or Taj Gibson.

That type of PF. Good size and high level quickness. Lacking a bit in physicality but should improve in time and be solid there also. Primarily a defensive player and rebounder. Limited offensive game. Relies on hustle points. Odd midrange jumper.

according to draftexpress, he is a senior and very athletic and was a track and field star. scores well close to the basket. lots of energy.

his limitations include NOT having a mid-range jumpshot or 3 point shot; his defense is uneven (though it seems more mental than physical ability); and he needs to gain some muscle. oh, and he is a tad undersized for a pg, but not fatally so

actually, he seems very much like the sort of player ainge loves to take in the second round. a motivated player who has one particular skill, but a number of warts. this is how you build a bench.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Round 2 player.  We have a bunch of 2nd round picks, so Brice could be a nice pickup later.
Question is if you have Brice Johnson and Jordan Mickey on the bench/second unit, who do you rather give minutes too?

I dont think he lasts until round 2.  he might be around at 16 for us although there might be better players on the board. I think he's gone after that.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.

He is slated to go 16th for us now on nbadraft.net.

I would pick Johnson mainly for his rebounding capability

And anything extra is a bonus.   But he still has potential

Runs like a gazelle. Very explosive and top 2nd jump

He has added strength every year too.

I really like Johnson in the early 2nd he could very well become a solid 3rd big man in the Thompson/faried mold. Limited skill but elite athlete who can rebound and finish. Should be able to play some small ball 5.
