Can someone convince me KD will leave OKC?

I think his decision will have a lot to do with their playoff run.

Maybe.  But it is hard to argue that he has a better chance of winning the Finals by bouncing to the East.  Playing in the Finals?  Also maybe.  But winning is a different story.

Nobody can convince you, nope.

But, if KD is secretly unhappy in OKC (the city, the coach, the whiff on Harden among other decisions), AND if he is the type that appreciates the anti-Laker type team with a smart HC and stable front office and youthful, energetic team with loads of picks and flexiblity, he could be open to pulling the trigger.

I think he's going to stay in OKC, but by all means, he is VERY welcome in Boston!

I also don't know why KD would leave OKC. The only thing I can think of is "easier path to the finals"?

I don't believe he leaves this summer, but there are plenty of reasons he might leave that no one would be privy to.  Maybe he and Russ don't get along, maybe he thinks he and Russ have hit their peak, maybe he doesn't like Oklahoma, maybe he wants to go back home to DC (or Texas), maybe he feels the east will be easier, maybe he wants to play with his league friends, maybe he wants to be in a bigger market for other reasons, maybe he doesn't want to pay state income tax, and on and on.

I think Durant is losing confidence in OKC's front office.

I think Durant is frustrated at GSW and SAS overtaking OKC. That OKC were best young team in the league in 2012, runners-up for the title, but instead of moving forward and winning a Championship have instead taken a step back and fallen a bit behind their competitors.

I think Durant is frustrated that Harden was traded and they have nothing to show for it. That OKC were unwilling to pay Harden but are now paying Kanter big money instead. That they could have afforded Harden but lacked the foresight and planning necessary to realize it.

I don't think Durant necessarily wants out (is done with OKC) but I do think he is open to moving on (to searching for and examining alternatives).
