Sherrod Has Skal as our No. 2 Draft Target (ahead of Ingram)

Those actually aren't bad rankings by Sherrod.  I like that he went out on a limb and didn't go with the Hield hype.  It's different.  I usually do not agree with him at all. He was hyping up embiid big with the injury issues and I did not agree. He basically has Skal in there instead of Hield.

I would take Ingram but Labissiere might turn out to be the best player in this draft. The guy has incredible quickness and length and has a nice touch. He got beat up in College and drowned in a sink or swim team. That's very concerning since most NBA coaches are going to treat him the same way.

The skills are there tho. He just has to toughen up. Picking him at 4 or 5 would not surprise me.

Ingram is actually longer in both wingspan and standing reach. Ingram is like 1 and 1/2 years younger and will play the 2-3 in the NBA and has the length to play in the front-court. He's not AD but he is like a KD/T-mac mix

Skal is a real good prospect I feel.  He has some concerns because he's a twig. He can really block shots though. His offense is also improving.  He could be what guys like Noel and Larry Sanders should have been.  His explosion off the ground is really impressive and long arms.  Big hands. I always like to see that.

Thats ridiculous. Looks like he has the same weaknesses for Skal and Ingram, but Ingram's at least proven his strengths.

I like players that float under the radar though.  College is somewhat meaningless that way.  I really did not buy the hype of some other guys i know people did here and have been right quite a bit. Embiid was a good prospect when eh was floating under the radar for me before his year in college where everyone blew him up when he had  injury concerns.  Someone said in another thread sure you did but I really did have Marcus as my guy the year we took him and was not buying the hype. I did not feel Wiggins or Parker were worth the hype of trying to move up for. Okafor was different.  I also had Paul George, Whiteside and Bradley as the 3 guys who could slide to us  and thought Bradley had the most potential to be there and wanted Bradley.  I do that more than not.  I do not go with the majority and what is hyped as far as what the  consensus says.

Sully, Perk, Tony Allen. Ainge does this a lot and I've been there with him.  Even the ones that didn't work out like Fab Melo.  Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I was higher on Perk and his long term potential here than Al j as well.  Al j did not have the mindset to play here long term. never saw jr giddens coming that's about it. Also liked rozier when people were hyping up Rj hunter here. Also though the celtics should target a young wing to possibly replace Green when we took Young.  Sully was a top college player who slid because of injuries. Embiid rose which is totally different.

We need guys who can score and size though.  It really depends what  pick we get and what Ainge is going to do with it though as far as trades or whatever.  I like Skal as a sleeper pick though.

I'm with Sherrod here where  I'm not buying the Ingram and Hield hype so much. I think Simmons and Skal are two of the most talented players in this draft. Ingram and Hield had really good college years and deserve praise and are good prospects but I don't think you overlook Simmons and Skal and their long term talent and potential just because of one year in college that was basically meaningless.

No I don't.  I posted all the stuff I'm saying i did on another forum though i got banned from lol because I don't go with what most people think. I can drive people nuts with that stuff. It's all still there though.  I just searched some of my old posts over there when someone challenged me here saying no you didn't and not to pat myself on teh back but I had Paul George, Whiteside, Bradley, Sully, Smart, Fab Melo, Tony Allen, Marcus Banks, Kendrick Perkins and james young before we selected them. Did not see Giddens coming a mile away. Also didn't see Isaiah Thomas so Ainge has me there. jay crowder yes..  Also liked Big Baby.  How i described Avery Bradley and George and Whiteside and Marcus and all  of them is spot on point of what they are.  I said it would take Bradley a bit.  I also said Whiteside was a project as well and both guys would take 3 years before they started paying dividends.  Said Paul George would slide and maybe we'd get him but he would be a superstar and like Paul Pierce. I just searched and read it because i know i said it.  I should be.

Also have several posts over there when people wanted to trade Pierce and were chanting for oden mocking them saying Durant is the guy we have to get and that trading Pierce is stupid. I said that drafting Oden is a risk. Said the same about Embiid.  Most people thought i was an idiot...

I liked perk long term and thought Al j was  more a developmental player that we could possibly trade for someone better as well.

I had a hard time trading Rondo but made sense getting Smart and then Isaiah. I explore a ton of stuff and am wrong a lot too. I've been targetting Kevin Love and Dwight Howard for years as well.The list goes on of free agent trade targets that never happened.

Paul George is a good example though because I just searched my comments from those 2 drafts and George was the same thing and I was saying the same things about paul george.  As far as talents Skal and Simmons should be rated high and Ingram and Hield shouldn't necessarily be rated above them just because they had 1 better college year. George had issues in college as well.  Pierce also just kind of went through the motions in college and slid because of it.

Skal should be rated high. You can see his talent.  He is a two way player unlike Noel and his offense is developing. He is a very good post player and a great shot blocker.  He's a twig and his offense is developing.

I hope he slides. I'll be very surprised if he gets past 10 though. I don't think we can get him with the Dallas pick.  Both he and Thon Maker have way more upside than guys like Ellenson and guys like that.  Maker has more questions to me with how he moves and there just isn't enough footage  on him against real competition.

If the pick falls outside of top two...I predict Danny will pick Skal.  Maybe even with trading down to the sweet spot where Skal is still available. Of course, he would pick up another future asset with the trade down.
