Really agree with that. Complaining about calls is a particularly ridiculous thing to hear fans complain about because they are oh so selective about who they criticize for it. Basically every single star player I see complains about calls all the time.
It rankles me most with players like LeBron and Blake, I think because it seems that they have an almost unfair physical advantage over nearly every opponent, so it's almost bad sportsmanship for them to complain so much about calls. They get calls all the time and they beat the heck out of players defending them.
But I understand it, at the same time, because I know that their physical dominance requires opponents to constantly hack and foul them on nearly every possession, most of which isn't easily seen by the regular viewer at home.
Yes exactly you bring up my defense for them. I play a lot of ball and as someone who tends to be a bigger player than most on the court I see it on my limited level that guys just really lay into you and they don't even think twice about it because "hey, he's bigger so I'm allowed to". And it's less that one of those fouls might stop you, because often we see particularly LeBron finish through contact, but that those hits add up on you over time and ultimately really aren't fair. I think LeBron is particularly interesting in that I think he really gets hit VERY hard sometimes but just finishes anyways. Hits that would knock many players over entirely and he hangs and still lays it in due to his strength.
I'm not going to say the complaining can't go too far or result in, my biggest gripe, when a guy is complaining and lets the other team beat him down the floor and score. But again often complaining is rewarded and these guys want to win. Same thing with flopping in general.
