I suspect he's going to look better there than he did here and be pretty solid for them off the bench.  -->good enough that he'll spawn several threads all wondering/complaining why didn't he play that way for us

Those will parallel the knee-jerk "Ainge screwed up because..." threads.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I hope this saves the Cs some 'real' money because there is no reason to waive Lee if he is just going to join a team whose draft pick we own. I really think there should have been an agreement in place that he couldn't join the Nets or Mavs.

Hopefully they'll play him a lot and improve our pick.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
Hopefully they'll play him a lot and improve our pick.
Hopefully he will play well and improve our pick, too.

There should be a forum category added under "Off-Topic" named "Hindsight is 20/20" for anyone who wants to post "Ainge screwed up because..." threads.  ;D

yup.  Ainge thought Lee would be an improvement over wallace.   Also last year of his contract , so he will play out of his mind

he guessed wrong.

Even if the new system improves his numbers, that's all offense.  There is nothing Carlisle can do to hide him on defense.  I hope that his offensive game improves and they play him a lot, because he'll never be a net positive on the court

Wallace hasn't played a minute in the NBA this year and very likely never will again. Lee was disappointing but definitely better than that.

The original trade was Wallace and Chris Babb for David Lee.  I know it is not saying much but David Lee was an improvement over Gerald Wallace.  I suspect that Danny hoped that Lee would play well enough to at least have some trade value (of which Wallace had zero).  In the end, it turned out that Lee had no trade value either.

This shuffling of the deck chairs that were being stored below deck in the storage room made no impact good or bad on the Celtics.  I think we had a better shot as some trade value with Lee than with Wallace so I have no quarrel with Ainge for making this trade.  Plus it saved us from cutting Chris Babb.

I suspect Lee with hardly play for Dallas.  He probably will not help them to even one more win, nor hurt them.
