Imagine if you could draft the rights to any player at any time. You still had to wate till they were 19 to play on your team, but if we wanted to take a shot at this kid in the second round we could.

NBA teams should be able to draft the rights of infants if you ask me. It would totally eliminate tanking. Ben Simmons would have been a 2nd rounder 10 years ago.

just rights, no compensation. When he's good enough to play in the league he signs a rookie deal with the team that owns his rights.

I'd probably just take Lebron's son and wait it out

Why stop there? I'm thinking we could draft future children. Can you imagine how good the Celtics would be 50 years from now if they had the right to Ben Simmons's first male grandchild?

The radar of college is already tuned in .   And you can bet pro scout have one eye watching or spy's relaying updates .

I think LeBron would have been a PRO tight end .  At least athletically . He is a little soft for someone so big and muscular built.

Umm what? You can't just decide to take a person's rights. It's already borderline morally wrong to draft players, trade players across the country etc let alone a person not playing professionally or declared for the draft or anything.
