Marcus Smart will be our PG for the future. Future 1st team all defense and future all star.

LOL...Okay there buddy. Can Smart at least win his starting job back? He's approaching year 3 for God's sake.

Or, more realistically, he's got a year of experience under his belt.

Valentine would be great in the ET role, very similar player except that he's a better shooter.  I don't think he can guard NBA points guards though.

Best of prospect for the Celtics? Marcus Smart! Honestly I'll be disappointed if we draft another pg. We have only so many minutes to give and a few glaring holes to fill. If our picks stay as they are they are many great options at each spot to fill our weaknesses

Valentine is not a pure point this is the point people are missing. On offense he can play point guard, shooting guard and small Forward.
On defense he can guard two positions not the quickest laterally but is a super smart team defender.

Smart is the best point guard prospect for the Celtics.
My biases, in order of fervor:
Pro:
Smart, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, Kemba, Grant Williams, Sleepy Williams, Edwards!

Anti:
Kanter, Semi, Theis, Poierier

He would get destroyed by point guards in the NBA lol
and why is that?
Why do you think? He's not athletic and extremely slow (for a point guard). Can you imagine him guarding john wall or russell westbrook?
CB Mock Deadline - Minnesota Timberwolves
Kemba Walker / Tyus Jones / Aaron Brooks
Jimmy Butler / Jamal Crawford / Treveon Graham
Rodney Hood / Nic Batum / Marcus Georges Hunt
Taj Gibson / Nemanja Bjelica / Jonas Jerebko
KAT / Derrick Favors / Cole Aldrich
Picks - 2018 CHA 1st (Lotto protected), none out

So would he play the secondary ball handler role alongside Thomas? And then assume primary responsibilities when Thomas is off the floor? If he's a direct comparison to Turner I would be inclined to keep Turner in that role given his experience. However in that case I wouldn't be averse to drafting Valentine as a developmental prospect
