Its very unlikely Cleveland made this deal without some sort of okay from Lebron.

pretty sure it is NBA year, which expires at the end of June basically, but you may be right.

Good grief. I take back what I said about Neil Olshey....

? Seems like a solid deal for Portland to me. They're way under the cap. They're basically getting a free first rounder to pay the exact same amount of money they would've had to pay without Varejao, just dispersed amongst their players.

This is correct.  1 year or until the end of the contract, whichever is shorter.  Since he still has next year on the contract, 1 year.

Which has been my point all along.

Dead money on the books beyond this year, though. Not sure exactly how much of AV's contract for next year is guaranteed. Perhaps the stretch provision will smooth that out a bit.

29 starts = 15 wins, 14 losses
15 bench = 5 wins, 10 losses
8 DNPs = 3 wins, 5 losses

That is what I thought it would say. I thought Orlando had played well with Frye as a starter. I think Frye has a fair bit left to offer and that he is a very good pickup for Cleveland.
