still a massive fan of rj and the question of his low % which also followed him to maine-young has proved himself with his three up in maine at a young age buthis defence is still a project
the press andcoaches see these kids in practice and scrimmages-who and how do they compare, how good is rj at shooting drills
was i over ethusiastic, did his shoulder injury throw him off up in maine,he wasn't connected up there

mickey,rj,rozier ,young got no time coming into deadline
when we traded rondo, dwight powell was specifically asked for by dallas as throw in
he was one of my favorites a skilled big that showed too well up in maine and is doing well this year
anybody think we held back mickey from all star weekend and our young guys recently in hopes they aren't forced into throw ins to balance trades

-the now thinned down, in shape lee is superglued to bench
the young guys are in sstreet clothes not even getting time up in maine

sorry for confusion-is it possible that our rookies are being held out of lineups in maine or at home games because of last years good showing with red claws by dwight powell that got him included in rondo trade-
if mickey did well in all star game he would garner to much attention -again boston not wanting to be forced to give him up to balance off a possible trade -
too many airport conspiracy books

Don't believe that is the case. More likely Stevens is shortening the list of those he's playing and using only those he feels will give him the best chance of winning. In other words the experiment is over... at least for now while in the playoff hunt.

I think this is mostly the situation, however, it does not 'hurt" (no pun intended) to keep the young pups out of the lineup and avoid injury of potential valuable trade pieces.

I don't think so, I think we were too optimistic during the offseason

Me thinks something is in the works. I think your suspicion of keeping some players out of the limelight could be correct.
Is Mickey's leg still an issue or is back playing again???
I don't believe all that Cavs/Knicks trade hoopla but I do think Danny will make some kind of move that would help us secure a three or four spot this year.

The intention is to showcase all your talent before a trade, to make them look BETTER, not worse.  If you don't want to throw someone in, you don't have to do the deal.

I watched the D-League all-star game. Mickey was on the bench in a suit. I think it was a
high ankle sprain, just like Marcus last year. It takes a while for that injury to heal.

Hunter has all the skills to ultimately stick around. It's shocking how bad his shot is. There were signs of this in college, but people let him off the hook saying he was carrying the team and had to chuck up a lot of low percentage threes. He better be working at it.

On the other hand, rookies are naturally nervous and these guys are coming into the league younger and younger.

I never imagined that Avery Bradley knew how to shoot. When Brad first started training him as a mini-Kobe ball hog, I didn't understand what was going on. Or I was thinking, wow, we are really bad now. I mention this because maybe RJ Hunter deserves some slack for his lousy shooting.

James Young is sort of the opposite. He is not well-rounded in all facets of the game. Hunter blocks shots, gets steals, rebounds. I am not saying Hunter has been great, but he was sort of similar to the Datome role. Now if we are to be serious, we should have kept Pressey and Datome. Rookies are usually useless. You have to either play them at the beginning and let them grow into it or take it slow by sending them to the end of the bench or Maine, though maybe not as slow as James Young seems to be going. I can see Young being a great shooter. Neither guy really stands out as in if we lost them, we would automatically regret it. If you trade Bradley, Smart, Olynyk, Thomas, or Crowder, you are asking for a beating from the basketball gods.

Keep Wallace instead of Lee and somehow fit in Pressey and Datome, then get Howard on the cheap for two #1's, Boston and Dallas. Well, now I am asking for the impossible. I guess this is the dilemma for the GM. How is he to know back then what is obvious now. Maybe forget about Pressey. But wouldn't Datome be better as a fourth guard than what's left? Or that is EVan Turner. We are all set at guard now. But what about SF. Wallace would have been perfect. Wallace for Lee was a bad move. Wallace was a great teammate and perfect guy to fill in for ten minutes for Crowder. Yes, Danny didn't know Crowder would be this good and the Jerebko at SF doesn't seem to be working. Maybe he is too big. So Jerebko fits in at PF with Olynyk and Amir. I don't see Sully fitting in too much longer whether with his clothes or this team. If Amir is not damaged goods, I see him as quality old man fourth big. Zeller is obviously on the clock. He is getting his chance.

It basically comes down to wins and success in the playoffs.

I need the trading deadline to happen or end. I want trades or no trades, but some real games. We were on a good streak. Each day I go to the new game thread to see what's up. All I see is the last Clippers game. We are at a point where the schedule no longer matters. We are going to be the favorite in most games. I'm psyched.
