Boston Celtics ‏@celtics
Due to potential severe weather, Saturday night's game in Philadelphia has been postponed until 7 p.m. Sunday night.

Are we really supposed to get a large storm tomorrow night? The last predictions I saw all said the storm was too far south of the Boston area and we would get about 1-3 inches, which is not even in the ballpark to cancel an NBA game.

It has been postponed until Philadelphia can assemble a more formidable team.

Thank god, I have tickets to that game on the baseline! Wife wasn't going to go tomorrow no matter what.

They strategically blew the last part of the season so that they would miss playing in a snow storm! Belichick always knows what he's doing ;)

Thankfully, I've heard it's gonna miss us, but that game's in Philly no?  I'm headed down to Atlantic City, so I'm hoping it misses them too.  Seems like more of a wind storm than snow.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Yeah, you're right, the game is in Phili, so that makes sense. I was looking at a Yahoo fantasy bball schedule that had the game at Boston, which was wrong.

Jokes, but seriously, it's interesting that playing in Denver might actually be fortuitous, seems a snow storm would seem to favor Denver.

Anyway, on topic, I guess you can't blame them for precaution, but couldn't they just arrive early?  Maybe you post-pone the game because you figure people won't be able to safely get to the game, but nobody is going to attend a game in Philly anyway.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I find it funny the NBA is willing to postpone a game yet URI which is playing at George Washington university couldn't get the game postponed -- only moved up to 3:00 from 7:00 today.
