I'd rather get Lopez than Howard, I think he'll hold up physically better over the long term and he's far more skilled offensively.

Why in the world would Brooklyn do that?  Unless by Boston 1st you mean the Brooklyn pick that we own.

I wouldn't go as far as Liber, but Nets would need more. Like their 2018 pick back and C's pick.

Also I really don't think Howard is leaving Rockets unless he is going to Heat in sign and trade of Whiteside in off season. Kind of a swapping of inconsistent talented big man lol.

Yeah they'd make the pick we're keeping better and the pick we're giving them worse.  They'd at least need one of their picks back to consider it, and probably would insist on this year's to send Lopez packing.

No way do the Nets even consider that unless they're getting one of their own picks back. The trade makes them appreciably worse and rids them of one of the few players they're banking on using to attract free agents, so it's not like the cap space they'd open up this summer without Lopez's contract would really be helpful.

Why would Boston (or any other team) give up a pick like that for Lopez?  A Center who is often hurt.  Who is not moving the needle on his team.

I could see Boston giving up any pick, but the ones they get from Brooklyn.

May it take more then Boston's pick, probably.

But no way do they get one of their picks back for Lopez.

And no way does Brooklyn gift Lopez to the Rockets and help the Celtics acquire Howard for a mediocre first rounder and a second rounder.

You just said you rather Lopez because of his health?  You do realize this is Brook Lopez right?  He is one of the biggest injury risk center in the NBA.

No thanks.

I'm not giving Dwight Howard the max money he's going to demand after this season when he looks like he'll be completely washed up in 2 years.

I also don't have any real interest in a center who can't rebound or play solid defense and whose offensive game was best suited to the NBA of a different era.

Not interested in giving future picks for Howard. Gamble may pay off in the end, but I'm not willing to risk it as history has shown with him.

That said, do you think we have a chance of winning a championship with him this year?

That's something seriously worth considering then.

And have you seen Dwight the last few years? At least Lopez doesn't have a game based upon athleticism.
