What do you guys think about bringing in a vet that can still play and give us some maturity/stability? His minutes are down and he really isnt the athlete he once was but do you guys think he could help a bit with interior defense and passing from the low block?

2019 Historical Draft - Golden State

C - Bill Russell/Joel Embiid
PF - Giannis Antetokounmpo/Tommy Heinsohn
SF - Kevin Durant/Billy Cunningham
SG - Bruce Bowen/David Thompson
PG - Isiah Thomas/James Harden

I think Tyson has declined too much. Not interested in him. Paid too much money.

I think Tyson Chandler is worth looking into. I'd prefer to see what we have in Mickey before going for him. That said, I for one value the 2nd rounder from Philly very highly and am not interested in giving that up.

I'm not too worried about any decline shown in his play so far, I think he'd be an assert for us (at least short term). More concerned about future financials, assets we give up, and injury concerns. Also I think he has negative trade value, so that's very concerning for me.

But it's not a bad idea to study him as an option. But as of now, he's not the first option I'd look into. I'm also quite comfortably heading into free-agency with what we have.

Gun to my head, I say stay away from him. But not opposed to studying the situation.

Tyson Chandler is in rapid decline, on a big long term contract.

Toxic asset.  No thanks.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Not worth it unless we are ready to contend. No sense tying up money on some one that really doesn't help much. Yes he's a C we can use, but better for the half court game which we don't do well at a high level.

Rather have Lee's contract expire.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I have always been a humongous fan of Chandler and his defense, but at this point, I think we are better off picking up Amir's contract next year than committing ourselves to three more years of a declining Tyson -  assuming better options don't come in free agency. He is exactly the kind of player / contract you don't trade for - look what we just went through with Wallace in his twilight years.

Agree....also rather have a Dwight rental.

We're not contending this year, and for Chandler, this year will likely be the his best for his lengthy contract duration.

Pass.
