That's an enigma.  Especially when you look at the home records of all the other playoff bound teams in the East.... Your thoughts.

I think Boston used to have a huge advantage at home, but in this day and age of internet and everything the Boston fans have become somewhat typical.  I hate saying that but I used to go to games way back and it has changed quite a bit.  I don't see the same diehard fans at games.

I think that goes for the nba in general. I think the way the league is now it doesn't mean as much playing at home or away.  EVerything is too politically correct.  Good travel arrangements etc.  It doesn't make that big a difference.  Almost just as exciting beating the opposing crowd. Maybe I'm wrong but that's the feeling I get.

You don't see the same rivalries.  Heinsohn is called a homer and was for the longest time where he used to really dislike other teams and rarely commented on them. Now the media  wants him to be more fair and talk about other stars and be nice.   HE used to hate Lebron now that's being a homer, and he has to show Lebron respect.  It's lame.

There's no such thing as rooting for the home team anymore.  A lot of fans go to games to see opposing stars etc.

The last game I went to the fans it was a bulls game and the fans in front of me were buls fans and jordan fans.  They kept standing up in front of me too.  Back in teh day you would get completely demolished for that. Now security is so tight and politcally correct you can't even yell at people like that.  It's lame. How dare those people come into our house.

I haven't been to a game since that.  It sucked.  I read it for years on the internet people calling Heinsohn a homer too. That's what you are supposed to do.  This young generation sucks.

Coach speak is always about protecting home court and most of the playoff bound teams are doing that.  If the C's can get that corrected, and continue to play great on the road, they can really make some headway.

YTD home records in the East:

Cleveland
 15-1,

Chicago
  14-5

Miami
  15-7

Atlanta
  12-6

Toronto
  11-6

Boston
  9-9

Indiana
 12-5

Detroit
 12-5

Orlando
  12-6

Charlotte
 13-7

I think that we don't have a star player of our own has a lot to do with it.  The celtics play good basketball but I'm not imagining it that a lot of fans go to the games to see opposing stars.

Preparing for the playoffs of course. Since they know they'll never have Home Court advantage, they figure they might as well win all the away games.

Two observations:

1) Maybe their schedule has been harder at home

2) I think they play tight in front of the home crowd in the 4th quarter

I could back these up with stats but Im too lazy right now

They seem to play better with the proverbial chip on their shoulder.

2nd best road record in the league, tied with SA!  How do you reconcile that with a mediocre .500 record at home?  Wish I knew the answer.

Free of the weight of expectation, play better in the role of hunters than the hunted.

This. Another way to look at it: They usually play quite well against good teams, but often quite poorly against bad teams (Lakers, Nets).

I think it's close reps. As in games being close together helps them play overall better. Think they need more intense at home practices to be sharper for home games. We have seen clues on this from players, BS, and actual home games. We have heard them mention practice, getting on the same page and about professionalism. It's also evident seeing their success at back to backs that close games work for them. BS needs to turn up the practice. Yeah we are talking about practice.. practice.

Well if they were playing soccer I would say that they love to play on a counterattacks and because of that they are playing better as guests ;D
About other fans coming into our house and being loud and all of that, I don't like it. You don't get to see that in Europe generally...
