The Celtics seem dependent on Amir Johnson. We could probably get by with a three-headed Sully-Olynyk-Zeller center, but each has flaws making them much more vulnerable to exposure at the five spot.
Unfortunately, Amir has plantar fasciitis.
Maybe he should rest his worn out feet for a couple months and then return closer to the playoffs.
Smart, Thomas, Bradley, and Crowder give us hope at the other positions that we can compete better than we did last playoffs.
Of those four, Crowder is the only one I have faith in staying healthy.
The players don't even have to be injured enough to have to sit to ruin our odds. Isaiah had the bad back and wasn't himself. You're almost better off having a banged up player sit. I think Don Zimmer knows about that. Ask him about Butch Hobson.
The NBA trading deadline is February 19th. If I'm Danny, I'm looking to move Lee, Sullinger, and Turner for one center and one point guard.
Turner is okay, but this team does it best when they use helter skelter defense and a consistent running game pertaining to pace.
Lee, Sullinger, and Turner to me are this year's Humphries, Bass, and Jordan Crawford. I don't mind being proven wrong and I most certainly do not root against those players. It's just my opinion.
I would give Jordan Mickey a chance. It would help to know what his potential is and to then use that info for working on trades and selecting draft picks.
Maybe the key to Sullinger is to keep him hungry, no pun intended. When he was at the bottom of the pecking order, he played his best ball. Once he became the man, his game sort of fell apart.
I like Zeller. His skills seem to fit in. Sullinger cannot keep up with the rest of the guys. Turner kind of pounds the ball like Rondo. Turner is only good when he plays hero ball and then the games become a crapshoot? David Lee is another ball hog. We don't need guys like that unless they are stars, and even then, we are going to want humble stars who are hungry for wins, who are playing for the love of the game which says there is no i in team.
