So last night against the Knicks the topic of Lee's injuries came up. I wish I could remember exactly what Mike said, but the take away was something fishy might be up. Lee is said to have 2 injuries and no explanation has been given for them. He is older (for an nba player) so maybe he just got hurt at home or in a trampoline accident or something but...
If Ainge was in talks to make a trade involving Lee, he would certainly pull him from games. No point in risking a real injury. I've read that Lee's value is only in his large expiring contract. This is bull, if anyone trades for him they will use him a bit just as we are.
Who could it be? Noah makes a lot of sense? Anyone else? Lets keep an eye on this, if anyone else in the league goes down with a phantom injury we might know something before it happens.
Everyone in the organization has an interest in Lee playing.
Yes, his salary gives them options in a potential trade but if he isn't traded he's a valuable part of a playoff run - he was brilliant in the Finals last year after sitting for long periods.
Once more, brilliant move by Danny Ainge in getting him. They shed Gerald Wallace's salary, got someone who could really help in April, and the risk is minimal. He's a pro's pro, a veteran leader.
As for Noah, I don't think that acquiring him makes sense. Love him, love his game, don't like the body. Looks like he might be breaking down, even if he weren't already over 30. There's a chance here to build something long-lasting, a perennial contender. They'd be better off getting someone with upside and a body that's working.
