I don't care if he can't play a lick of defense we have a whole roster for that.

6'10" shoot first small/power forward avg career highs in minutes 34.6 and 17.5 ppg 6.3 RPG and 3 apg  .372% 3p .892% ft

Only thing Brad changes is he takes almost all of his shots from three here. His 2p% is.408%.

How bout this lineup for spacing

 Kelly
 Amir
 Gallonari
 Bradley
 Thomas

Sub a big for Crowder and the defense is awesome.

Question is what's a fare price.  WouldLee and two firsts get it done.

Or would they rather have Rozier, Hunter, Young and a first plus filler. Is that too much for Gallo.

2 x 1st rounders is way too much for gallinari
even if depending on the pick traded

i doubt theyd want rozier as they already have mudiay who they would want to have as much playing time as possible to develop

hunter and young are fair game as nuggets are rebuilding based on mudiay and nurkic
adding either would fill a need
but it would depend on whether they like them

also galinari is on a 3 yr deal
so if it doesnt work out we'd be stuck with him

we need a scorer. I really don't want to give up hunter, smart or rozier or any of those picks to get him though.

i'd be down if we could trade KO and a 2nd rnd pick. or something.

Gallinari would be pretty good here, but like Green Warrior I would be very picky about what I would give up to get him.   I'd prefer to give up Hunter or Rozier instead of KO though.
I just don't see Gallinari as a real building block since he always seems to be injured.

I also would like to have Gallo...he seems like a near perfect fit.

That 40% from the field has me really worried. I'd love a scorer, just one who could do so consistently.

Yeah, it's tough. I really like the idea of him playing here, could be just what this team needs. Another go-to guy that can hit shots. But he's 27 and has an injury history. Been playing well so far this year, but you'd have to be careful of what you'd give up.

If I'm Denver, and I know I'm probably not getting the Brooklyn pick or Smart for him, I'm asking for the better of the Boston/Dallas 1sts, The Philly 2nd and one of either James Young, RJ Hunter or KO.

So let's say It ends up being #15, #31 and RJ Hunter, plus Lee for Salary, would you do that? Cause I can't imagine them moving Gallo for much less.

I agree with that Gallo is a good opportunity for us. I have been thinking about it for some time and i decided - Yes.
We would get a 2nd guy that can score 35 in a game.
He is long, shoots well, looks healthy and is ready to contribute right now.
He is a 6'10 PF, in CBSs system he is a strech 4 we seek. 28-30 minute player for us.
His contract has 2,5 more years. Not too long, not too short.
He gives us another much needed option late in games.
Maybe Im wrong, but I believe all of our draft rights have diminishing value if kept for too long.
We all know that we dont want 4 rooks on next years roster.
Im aware of the fact that we can trade them later, but when you see a player you like, you try to get him, cause he might not be avalible later. With many teams now staying put and evaluing their ceilings, it makes sense to use that circumstance and jump on a chance
I also like the Euro flavor he would bring (biased), something we dont have now.
I'd make an offer to Denver on January the 15h:

Boston gets: (about 17 M $ in salary)
Danilo Galinari
Randy Foye (waived)

Denver gets: (about 22,5 M $ in salary)
David Lee
Jonas Jerebko (asset with his unguaranteed contract, possibly to another team at the deadline)
James Young (young developing )wing
Dallas top 7 protected 1st rounder 2016 (still has a good upside, despite Dallas doing well atm)
Minnesota 1st top 12 protected (or 2 2nd rounders 2016, 2017)

Id be willing to give that Phily 2nd rounder (31st pick in the next years draft) on top of that if needed.

He would make us better a team now and hopefully going into the playoffs, we would still have assets (dont forget he would be one too) to make a bigger deal.
We have 3 more weeks to evaluate the situation some more.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Things that concern me with Gallo. I mean I like him, and he doesn't have something like a 4 year deal to take on, but....
-he's not an All Star
-he's got a significant and dangerous injury history
-he makes a lot of $$$ for someone who is not an All Star AND has a serious injury history.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

TP.

I believe the right package could get Kris Middleton, and I think he'd be a better fetch for this team. Younger / healthier / better defender / can play SF in the NBA, allows Crowder to play some smallball 4 along side him.

I was thinking about him the other day. I would love to have Khris Middleton on this team. He's a great shooter who can play defense and man the 3 spot.

Would the Bucks deal him though? Not only cause they just resigned him, but he's just about the only real shooting threat besides OJ Mayo on the team. I think they only move him of they concede this season. What would you take to give him up if you were them?

They may not, for your second reason (not your first, IMO). I think you'd need to trade them Olynyk in the deal to address their ongoing shooting needs. They BADLY need a stretch 4 on the Bucks.

Gallo can play defense, everyone seems to think that he and Bargniani are exactly the same player.  Biggest knocks on him are that 1.) He's injured a lot and 2.) Kawhi/LeBron/PG13 all can completely shut him down, although he feasts on everyone else

Tp decosta, for looking at it from Denver's perspective. Dallas pick, Philly 2nd, James Young, David Lee for filler.

That's basically the offer take it or leave it.
