Not until he gets voted or picked by a coach he is not it is that simple.

This forum is notorious for saying guys are all stars, when they are not, but this case there is some merit.

I was trying to find an old reaction thread after Bradley's signing and found one from his rookie signing instead.  Some pretty funny hyperbolic perspectives looking back.  Also some amazingly spot on stuff.

Awesome blast from the past, Redz. Can you find any more? A "Giddens is gonna be a star" or "we should turn down Rondo-4-six-All-Stars" thread, perhaps?

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
"" Avery Bradley deserves All-Star consideration: The jumbled East might make it tough for Boston players to earn All-Star consideration, and Thomas is probably the most likely to earn a February trip to Toronto. That said, there's a case to be made for Bradley, who has been excellent since returning from a leg injury in early November. Over Boston's past 12 games, Bradley is averaging 19.3 points per game on 50.3 percent shooting overall, including 48.1 percent beyond the 3-point arc. Bradley's net rating in that 12-game span is plus-10.8 points per 100 possessions, the best on the team in that span. It's easy to forget that Bradley, Boston's longest-tenured player, is still only 25 years old and continues to develop his game." From Chris Forberg's latest post. He is on his way.
"People look at players, watch them dribble between their legs and they say, 'There's a superstar.'  Well John Havlicek is a superstar, and most of the others are figments of writers' imagination."

This forum is notorious for saying guys are all stars, when they are not, but this case there is some merit.

There is certainly merit, but Bradley is badly blocked by a few already-tenured all-stars. The fan voting muddies things, and I don't see the team launching a humungous PR campaign to get out the vote for Bradley. Maybe I'm wrong.

There will be spots for 12 players, but James, Anthony, Wall, Lowry, Drummond, Butler, Wade, George, Love, and Bosh are locks for the game if healthy, so really two. Paul Millsap is at the front of the line after those guys, and then there is this writing on the wall that the Knicks will orchestrate a massive campaign to get Porzingis in.

That's a glut of frontcourt guys, though, so one spot is probably somehow going to be available. Maybe two with an injury (If an injured big is going to be replaced, Whiteside or Horford will probably get the nod).

Isaiah Thomas is probably the favorite-- the fan support, the narrative that he's been underrated for too long, the narrative about the Thomas acquisition being the turning point for the team, and the points-per-game angle all support him. Also, PG's get picked more often than SG's.

So who are the top 1-2 guards on the outside looking in? Teague is a candidate who was in the game last year. The fans will certainly vote Rose and Irving into the conversation. Beal and Derozan are also good candidates. Then there's Bradley, who may be the best defender of the bunch and is certainly right there in it.

Bottom line, though, Bradley's a real longshot. To get into the game in 2016-17, actually, I think he'll need to be "snubbed" this year. A lot of the tenured all-stars had to be snubbed a few times before they got the respect they deserved (Teague, Millsap, Bosh, Love, Kawhi Leonard, Jimmy Butler, Demarcus Cousins, etc..)

Hopefully friday He can show what he can do against the Warriors.

Much will depend upon the Celtics record.  The East is all bunched up right now, but if the team actually finds itself with a top-2 record in the conference by the time reserves need to be selected, it will be difficult to shut them out completely.
