Denver has some good talent but is a long way from competing.
If they decide to throw in the towel this year what would you give up to get Gallinari? (TR lifts on Feb 1)

money wise a straight Lee for DG swap works and may be the start of an enticing package.
Lee's expiring contract would free up ~$15m/year for the next 3 years but Denver would want more.

I'd give them the dallas pick plus a top 5 protected memphis pick (2019?) and tie up the package with a second rounder or 2.

DG seems to be a perfect fit for Steven's system. a career .366 shooter from 3 who is averaging 17 and 6 this year (despite lower %). In our system he would really help the spacing, provide a #1 option and thrive in the pass happy-find the open shooter methodology we employ.

We can't trade for him until February, but I'd be interested.  I don't think we trade Lee, we basically promised his agent that we wouldn't.  In order to match his salary, we'd have to do something like Jerebko, Turner and James Young. Then on top of that, the Nuggets would have to hope that Jameer Nelson signed somewhere because I think he still has a weird roster hold going on right now and the Nuggets have a full team.  I'd give up the Dallas Pick and some second rounders for him on top of that.  I just think that after shopping our guys and getting late firsts for him (like Rondo), we shouldn't be overpaying.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I'm not sure we would need to go crazy on a Gallo deal. The Nuggets essentially locked him up this past off-season so that they wouldn't lose him for nothing. Perhaps they may be a bit stubborn at first, but does he really fit into their long term plans?

Do you think so? (on Lee)

I felt like when we acquired him it was certainly with the intention of moving him at the deadline.

I love Gallo but I think two firsts and a second is probably a little much for him. Since we have so many seconds I would prefer something like a protected first and 3 or 4 2nds.

We are going to need to make moves in the offseason because we are going to have more picks than open roster spaces, but I still want to see fair value for our picks.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

My guess was we could turn Wallace into a more productive piece that would free up even more cap space at the end of the season.

I remember seeing a quote from David Lee that was basically "I spoke to my agent about it and I really want to make a comeback here and the Celtics organization promised to give me a chance to return to my all-star form."  I don't remember the exact quote and my Google skills are failing me, even with this: ["david lee" AROUND(25) "to the Celtics"] agent "all-star form"

Didn't realize they weren't tanking
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Gallo seems like he would fit extremely well on our team and I do hope that we find a way to get him. With our style of play and our position-specific needs, it makes too much sense. Lee and Jerebko are both players that I like, but Gallinari would be an upgrade in a lot of their lineups. There would still be a big role on this team for Evan Turner, but Gallinari would also be a big upgrade in the lineups where Turner has been playing the 3.

I wouldn't mind seeing Gallo in green. He isn't my favorite but he would be a nice piece on the wing... I wouldn't give up two firsts for him though.

I don't see the point in Danillo.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner
