#1 Steph Curry right now he's the best player in the world IMO.

 #2 Lebron bad back James
#3 Fear the Beard. Even though he doesn't play defense he's that good.
#4 The Unibrow Anthony Davis. Best two way player on the planet.
#5 Russell mad man Westbrook. He's crazy good.
#6 Kevin Durant Westbrook does more now.
#7 Blake Griffin. He's been coming along this is his year and the Clipper's year to get it done. He needs to step up to the next level.

What say you top 7 players.

1. James Harden
2 .LeBron James
3. Russell Westbrook
4. Steph Curry
5. Kevin Durant
6. Anthony Davis
7.Kawhi Leonard

AD has to rise up and take his place on the upper echelon.

Chose Kawhi because he's probably the best 2 way player in the league right now.

Harden is probably too high but if we had him I don't think there's any player I'd trade him for. Best scorer though I would like to see him actually make more shots than living off whistles.

Curry is probably too low but he also was shut down for long stretches in the playoffs last year. G S survived and eventually he started taring up again. If their shot isn't falling I think the 3 I have ranked above him make more of an impact.

Kawhi is one step below Griffin imo (just my perspective).
I think Kawhi is in the Jimmy Butler/prime Kevin Love/Aldridge spectrum.
I think Chris Paul has dropped into this second tier as well.
I think Cousins sneaks into the top 8 ahead of guys in this 2nd tier too.

I do agree that Harden could be number one. I think he's close. I wanna see Harden take them to the finals. With a healthy Dwight it's possible.

I think the guys in the top 8 could all be NBA mvp and they could be the clear number one option on a championship team. Aldridge could be a number one option on the Spurs bit his help is incredible with all those champions and that coach.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
1. Lebron
2. Davis
3. Durant
4. Curry
5. Westbrook
6. Harden
7. Leonard

Maybe my list looks a couple of years old, but still think the top 3 are pretty clear. The next three are extremely talented scorers, but still have another year or so before they move to the top. And Leonard is just so good without making a big deal about it (unlike #8 in Cousins - who I would also love to have).

No Griffin? He's been in beast more since last season's playoffs...
I seem to be one of the only Celtics bloggers with Griffin as a consensus top 5 player.
I really think he could be MVP this year.

I don't see how Curry isn't on top of the list:

Curry
Lebron
Davis
Durant
Harden

Then its more of a crapshoot with

Westbrook
Griffin
Leonard
Paul
and maybe even George in the mix.

Curry still lags James on the defensive end of the floor.  Curry is a monster offensively, but there are still two ends of the court.  And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Curry is a bad defender, but he just isn't a great defender.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Griffin is top 10, but he has shown that he still needs a lot of help to make an impact in the playoffs. The Clippers team is stacked this year, though, so he may propel himself into the top 5 after the season.

To chill dash- Curry, he is an amazing offensive force and a great face for the NBA, but the Warriors as a whole won the championship, not Curry. Look at the difference between Lebron and Curry in the finals last year!

Based on just this season so far? Because Curry has to be #1 (though in my head I've still got Lebron as the best in the world if game 7 of the finals was tomorrow).

1. Curry
2. Lebron (probably will move back to #1 at some point)
3. Westbrook
4. Griffin
5. Davis
6. Cousins
7. Durant (probably will move back up the list)
