Tyler Zeller to the Hornents for a Future first from  2018, Hornets are improved and with both Zellers together MJ could actually win a playoff series. Batum looks great on that team and Big Al and Kemba its a fun team to watch.

Sully to the Clipper's for a title push reunited with Doc perfect blake and deandre back up. 2017 pick.

Bradley to the thunder, for A Morrow,  filler and 2018 first. They might be bad by 2018. Bradley could really help them and maybe help get a ring.

Of course we could try to get better picks but are guys aren't exactly Golden. We would still have.

 Amir  Kelly
 Lee Mickey Jonas
 Crowder Turner
 Smart Hunter Young
 Thomas Rozier

Someone asked what it would look like to tank this year. It would look something like this. It's not hard to see that we would loose a lot of games with this roster. But still develop the youth and come back next year with Two Lottery picks maybe one top five pick.

I think the tank would be pretty simple.
Trade Thomas, dump Turner.

You trade Thomas and the team lacks a scorer. You go back to last year where there is absolutely no solution to the big scoring droughts. This gives Smart Bradley Rozier Hunter and maybe even Young a chance to step up. It would probably knock you out of playoff contention, unless one of those five takes a huge step forward.

If none take a step forward you probably look at going into the offseason knowing what you have with those 4 and also having a top 10 pick and two late lotto picks being our own and Dallas's.

Also, we would have whatever we got for IT.

I think its too early to talk tank moves. I still think we are a playoff team. I would rather see Brad make some decisions on players. ie decide who is a long term guy or something like that. ATM that would mean dumping Lee and Turner and allowing our younger players to take some of their minutes while the rest of their minutes are given to our younger core guys.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Trade everyone over the age of 25. Dump the ones under 25 that you don't want long term or are expiring/won't sign friendly contracts.

If he really wanted to, Ainge could have a roster with only the following guys under contract at the end of this year:

Smart
Bradley
Crowder
IT
Young
Hunter
Rozier
Mickey
Olynyk (only locked up until the end of next season too, so he could be easily traded).

with room for 6 draft picks/free agents.
He could then go after Harrison Barnes in free agency and attempt to trade for Nerlens Noel with Rozier+Hunter+ a pick etc..

Then draft Skal Labissiere or Jaylen Brown/Ben Simmons.

Giving us a fantasy starting unit of:

Smart
Jaylen Brown (or Bradley)
Barnes
Olynyk/Mickey (or Labissier/Simmons)
Noel

Can you imagine

Smart
Jaylen Brown
Barnes
Mickey
Noel

lol

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
