Yeah, I kind of think he's gonna be lost in the shuffle too. With all eyes being on Sully's butt size, and Lee's acclamation to the team, the rookies, and how the minutes will be divided up between all the power forwards.

I like what he gives this team, I just think he will get scrap minutes. Unless a good trade shows up, and we reduce the PF clutter.

Is JJ capable of playing minutes at SF,  just to to get some extra time on the court ?

He is, I think he was drafted as an SF before the "stretch 4" became so in vogue. I think he'll get some decent time there as the season goes on, and I think having him makes it easier for us to move ET if that's what we do to get to 15 players. If we do move ET were obviously looking for Smart to take over the majority of ball-handling duties and were asking our young wings like Crowder, Young, Hunter and Jones to step up and contribute. But having JJ there who is a capable 3 gives us the insurance necessary to fill the role should Young and Jones fail to step up. Jerebko is a versatile player, he can play positions 3-5 pretty well defensively which is key to playing for CBS and he's a pretty dang good shooter with good size and athleticism.

It wouldn't surprise me if he gets the majority of his minutes at the 3 provided Turner goes or Young doesn't play well. He's a little better suited for the 4 in today's game, but we have so many 4's it's tough to see him getting a lot of minutes there. I likes him in the small ball lineups at the 5 and I'd like to see that again in spurts. All in all though, I think they're is at least one trade by the new year that involves one of our PF's or two. Maybe Sullinger can come in averaging 17-10 and we can build a package around him and the Brooklyn pick/picks for Cousins when that mess blows up. Regardless, they're will be a move at some point to clear up that log jam once it's clear who's separating themselves.

I would love to see JJ get lots of minutes at the 3.

Aside from the fact that I think he has excellent length & mobility to defend the position, he also has a good set of skills to play as an off-the-ball 3.  He obviously can shoot, he's mobile to move through screens and is a good cutter.

I think he'd make an excellent complement to Isaiah/Lee/Amir or Isaiah/Lee/Zeller since he is a great space-making kick-out option for their pick & roll action.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

I think he can take the Walter or Scal role. A bench guy who can step up and play big minutes when we need him to. Or take the Wally Z role of handsome white guy.

All this talk has made me feel better about our situation at the SF position. No stars, but decent options.

I alway felt like JJ wanted to find a team he could call home, so he could get in a predictable rotation. By DA quickly signing him, he must be optomistic, and feel needed. I think we're gonna get a nice surprise by his play.
