I'm so happy that our team has one of the best environment in the league which is very important for the development of our guys.

These young guys all work hard which will ultimately pay off and I really think that most of our players will be successful in the future (just don't know their potential). Coach Stevens is the one who deserves the most credit because they all enjoy playing together and he makes them thrive on the team (for example, Jordan Crawford and ET played as PGs and exceeded expectations while they were playing mainly off-ball on their previous teams).

I think that Smart's leadership is excellent at his age which will be fundamental for the future. Also, the acquisitions of JJ and Crowder were underrated because they are both players who play with an 110% effort on the floor and they are perfect for our system. The same can be said for our picks who are hard workers. Amir Johnson is another person who has a very high motor which will help us even more in addition to his defense.

But the guys who I think really benefit from this environment are James Young, Jared Sullinger and Perry Jones III (if he remains on the team). If Young was drafted by a team like Sacramento, he would have had more minutes, better stats but less development. In Boston, James Young had the chance to work with Erman who helped him more on the defensive slides. James' work ethic has drastically improved since his Kentucky days and it can be seen in his gaining muscle weight (15 pounds), increasing 3 inches on his vertical (up to 38"), the amount of time spent in Waltham has risen and he seems more active on the court. Sullinger instead is trying to slim down this offseason and I think we have the right motivation this year due to the high competition in the frontcourt. While Perry's got a bigger opportunity than the situation in OKC (in case, he stays), so he maybe able to contribute more this year. Seeing all these guys working their butt off might help him in becoming more focused on the court which can be key because with that height and athleticism, he can be a mismatch anywhere on the court.

This year is gonna be tough for any team because we're gonna play a fast game every time so we're gonna wear them out and I think that this year is gonna be even more successful than last season

What they guys did in terms of improvement they did on their own.  Sullinger lost weight with Jon Lucas.   Sulilnger was allowed to balloon over 300 lbs while here.   Young did what he was told in the off season, Sullinger had not until now.

CBS is a great coach though and we have always had a good environment in other regards.   But the Sullinger thing is unexcusable.  The first thing Ainge should say at the extension talks is weight clause on Sully.
