Nah.
We were 12th last year and 8th during the last 36 games. Why not?

I'm not sold on the personnel.

+1

They're basically the same team, with a few tweaks. I don't think they'll be horrible again.

I don't think we can be a top defensive team without a rim protector. Our perimeter defense should be above average though.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
It's possible with our perimeter D and if Avery Bradley isn't traded.

We'd likely be right on the fringe I'd say.

David Lee is obviously a below average defender in the paint but he's an extremely efficient offensive player.

Considering the C's take more shots per game than any other team, if we can give more efficient shots to Lee, our points per game go up and our defense stays about the same as last season....
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

David Lee and Sully will drag us down to above average.

The roster as-is probably isn't top 10. Top 12-15 if they're playing with the effort they had last season. They still don't have a good defensive center but they're got some strong bodies in Sullinger and Johnson.

I think Sullinger has a bad rap, defensively. He's strong and he's got quick feet and usually moves well with his man.
