Dwyane Wade has reportedly accepted a one-year, $20 million deal to remain with the Heat.

Uh-oh, looks like Wade is gambling on being able to sign a max or near-max deal at the bigger cap next season.  I think he's going to be sorely disappointed, instead of just sore like usual.

...though there'll always be crappy teams looking to make a splash by signing a big name well past his prime.  Hello Sacramento!

I think they are a classic team that looks better on paper than they do in reality. They were below .500 with all guys pretty healthy for most of the season last year when Bosh went down. (they did not have mcroberts all season but it is really unclear if he is some sort of difference maker) Something doesn't quite fit with Deng, Wade, Bosh, and Whiteside. I think defensively they have a lot of problems and Wade and Dragic do not seem like a good fit offensively.

That may be. But if they land LMA, wooboy.

Dragic
Wade
Deng
LMA
Bosh

Yikes... Can they sign and trade while keeping that starting five? That's lethal.

Great news for Miami. They can dump Wade next summer and spend that money more wisely.

On a player who doesn't miss 20-30 games a year.

That's actually the problem. Riley doesn't want to see Wade play anywhere else. So they overpay this season in order for Wade to accept a more team friendly deal next season.
