Apparently the NFLPA was set to file collusion charges against the Broncos and Cowboys if Demaryius Thomas and Dez Bryant weren't signed to contracts before the deadline.  Apparently during the Dez Bryant negotiations it was mentioned that the Cowboys had spoken to the Broncos.

Thomas and Bryant both signed contracts just before the deadline, but this is where it gets interesting both of them signed 5 year, 70 million dollar contracts.  Bryant has about 1.5 million more in guaranteed money, but otherwise they are basically identical.

So the question is, did the Broncos and Cowboys collude?

If they actually did speak to each other prior to the players' signings, then yes, by definition they absolutely did.  If the Broncos and Thomas were each waiting to see what Bryant got before agreeing themselves, those would be called non-coordinated price effects in antitrust land, and would mean they did not collude.

I may be wrong, but I think they have the same agent.

They do not.  Bryant has Tom Condon of CAA, Thomas has Todd France of Five Star.

Let's not be too naive here, its almost certain that there was collusion going on.

The problem is would there have been enough out there to prove it?  (Is that Stephen Jones stuff viable enough?)

Anyone else surprised by how small the deals were? I thought Dez would get a toned down version of Calvin's deal. Julio and AJ still have to sign long term deals, it'll be interesting to see what they get. Sorry for the off-topic post. On yeah, and there was definitely collusion.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

It could be as simple as the agents trading notes and not the GMs.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.
