Not much of a surprise. I think he stays over there for the full contract and avoids rookie scale. I also think he won't be very good when he does, but that's another story.

Oh man, threads about McDermott and Saric. We 2014 again.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

So the GoFundMe for the Saric buyout didn't work?

Isn't this all part of the master plan?  To stink for as long as possible?

Not the worst news for Philly Im sure they plan on sucking again next year and then look to head in to next season with Embiid, #3, Noel, and Saric hitting their strides and also another top pick to boot.

needless to say I hope they fail miserably.

While not unpredictable or surprising it is bad news for him. They did want him this year and were trying to find a way to buy him out. They also wanted to get him on the rookie contract if possible. So just another small thing that could have gone better for them on the heels of some other ones (not getting the LA or Miami Pick, embiid healing slowly ). Curious who they draft

Hinkie said when they drafted him last year that he likely wasn't coming over before 2016, so this has been a distinct possibility for close to a year.

Ya they have taken a lot of risks knowing some wouldnt go quite as hoped. luckily for them the Noel thing has been great.
