I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

TP, nice inside article! I wish KG was still with the team. He would have loved Smart.

Check 2:28. I cannot remember KG getting props to another team's player:

I love the way Smart anticipates entry passes. So many steals because of quick hands up when the pass is done.
"We do so many defensive drills in practice, I come home and I'm putting the press on my woman, denying her the ball.
Y'all are laughing, but it's sad. I go home and deny the wing."

Great article. I think we underestimate the impact his ankle injury had on him last year, he was playing injured for most of the year. We haven't seen him at his best yet. Smart is going to be quite a player in this league for years to come. He has all the signs of a top level player on a contender. A true competitor on both ends of the floor with great confidence, maturity, and athleticism.

Too bad Ainge and company didn't do their homework equally well in the 2013 draft when they took Olynyk instead of Giannis though. Let's hope we nail it this thursday.

They did their homework perfectly fine with Olynyk.

Great read, thx :)

Ainge and the Scouting Dept did well with their homework on Smart.

Some things you can't teach, such as height. Some traits, like determination, fire, and competitiveness can be developed over time. When you come INTO the league with fire, determination and competitiveness (Like Smart has), then you are on your way to having a great career.

Looking forward to seeing Smart (and Team) continuing their development.

Looking forward to seeing DA and CBS continuing the build process around him as well.

After reading that my mind is made up that Stanley Johnson is our guy, so similar to smart in so many ways, Winslow is sliding down too, go get another pitbul Danny.
