More than Ty Lawson apparently....

I've been thinking this deal makes a lot of sense.
The article seems complimentary of the Kings for so far rejecting the proposal...my take is the opposite. Lawson's a low-cost, high-quality player and his short contract actually means that the downside is low if he doesn't work out.
And look at the history:
Noel
Lillard
Vesely
Udoh
FLynn
Gallinari
Jianlian
Roy
Webster
Childress
Kaman
Wagner
Battier
Dermarr Johnson
Szczerbiak
Those are the last 15 #6 picks - how many of them are better than Lawson?
the proper question to ask is "who was available at #6 in previous drafts" not who was selected.
being taken 6th does not mean there weren't better players available.
but, just using your list I'd take the following over Lawson:
Marcus Smart (missing from the list)
Noel
Lillard
Roy
Gallinari
Kaman
Prime Wally and Prime Battier would probably be better picks as well.
Flynn, Yi, Vesely, Udoh were all head-scratcher picks at the time so I really wouldn't use those as solid comparisons to this draft. No matter who's mock you refer to to figure out who'll be picked at 6, all of those players figure to have better careers than Lawson and that's without really stretching realistic expectations.
