It always seems that when Phil Jackson comes up in the media he is held to somewhat of a basketball god status. He has his accomplishments, he has 13 championships, two as a player and 11 as a coach. The way that I see it he was the coach of a number of super teams, and hid behind the success of his players. In my eyes Greg Pop has way more value in his 5 rings than Phil's 13.
My question is this, is Phil's status well warranted or is it just as a result of him being in the right place and the right time? What are all of your opinions on him and his so called "accomplishments"?
