I would look to Golden State, they have stated they need to dump a salary to be able to extend Green and stay under the tax (currently at 77 mil). I would be more than happy to take either Lee's or Boguts salary with the price being Harrison Barnes

I thought about them too, but the thing is trade for Lee we'd have to absorb him via our cap space, as his cap number is higher than the Rondo TE.

That extra 2 - 3 mil is easy to figure out. Example would be Pressey and Babb non guaranteed salaries

I've said it before: trading Wallace for Lee and a pick seems like it would help out both teams. GSW could then release Wallace using the stretch provision, freeing up roughly $12 million in payroll that they could then use to re-sign Draymond Green.

It does, but only if Danny strikes out on the FA market. Lee has no long term future here, so he's a one and done guy.

Lee doesn't fit under the trade exception and since trade exceptions cannot combined with other players, the Celtics would have to take him "naturally". That adds about $16m to the cap - or $6m if it's Wallace going back. I could see a trade of Lee + 1st + Barnes for Wallace + restricted 2nd + non-guaranteed salaries.

It would be worth it for GS, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it for the Celtics. Barnes has been in the league for 3 years and isn't exactly starting material. He's about to turn 23 so his long term development may never be greater than a role player. Lee is just sitting on the cap for this year. The 1st rounder will likely be 25+. Is that enough? Not so sure, especially if taking on Lee hinders the ability to use the trade exception elsewhere.

I think I've seen this before where Ainge could make this at least 2 transactions maybe even a 3 team deal with smaller TE's that eventually becomes a bigger TE can use to absorb Lee's salary.

BOS uses Rondo TPE to take on Lawson. Wallace to GSW, Lee and draft picks to DEN.

DEN gets draft picks and an expiring contract (not to mention a model citizen) in Lee. GSW gets financial relief to resign Draymond Green (once they stretch Wallace). BOS gets a talent upgrade.

Not completely sure, but the Prince TPE might be used to take on Faried, thereby creating a new TPE equal to the size of Wallace's outgoing contract (~$10 mil).

Edit: I realize that the resulting roster for Boston would still be a work in progress. Would need a wing scorer, and a big man. But Ainge could figure that out.

I think OKC is going to try to make Dion Waiters their long term solution at SG and with needing to keep things on a budget, could make Anthony Morrow available. If so I would use part of the Tayshaun Prince TPE to absorb Morrow's salary and turn a pick over to OKC.

I think Morrow is just the high efficiency, three point shooting specialist this team could use coming off the bench alongside IT.
