Would basket count if ball goes up through hoop and back down ?

Random question, but always wondered .

Say a player is under the hoop and the ball is shot or deflected through the bottom of the hoop, goes through ,and then drops back down and goes through the hoop the correct way .

Would that count as a basket?

No. By rule it's a dead ball, and possession goes to the other team.
