Never liked the guy for a number of reasons, but he was one of the great PGs I've seen. An assassin.

Anyway he says a lot of nice things about BOS and especially Ainge in the linked article.

That's very cool of Isiah Thomas. Basketball is a competition, a game, and is not personal. Very cool stuff from him.

Another reason I am grateful that I got to witness 80´s and 90´s NBA. These guys were incredibly competitive and they really had respect for each others talent.

I am ok with people appreciating Isiah on being a great player which he was.  He is imo a horrible horrible guy.  I cringe watching him today as a broadcaster.  Dirty player, bad coach, horrible gm, even worse as head of cba? hard to believe

I feel everything he says is not believable even if its a positive.  One of my most hated players EVER.

Watch the dream team show about how his contemporaries DID NOT want him on team.
Larry Bird would just be any other player if he wasn't white?

pooey to Isiah Thomas, Indiana U player and Detroit Piston, yes I've seen his entire career

I much prefer the Isaiah spelling to Isiah.  Isiah never made sense to me. The spelling of Thomas works for me in both cases.

You can't include Isiah when you say they had respect for each others talent.  He was a racist creep who had no respect for Bird and he was on a team of dirty players.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

Legend Isiah said some nice things about the Celtics organization. He finally showed some class. He most likely wants to be part of NBA commentator crew for TV.

Maybe now I can't forget what he said about Larry Bird in the day. He has to be trying to cover his tail with the Celtic family.

Isiah was my favorite player for a number of years when I was young.  As I got older I began to see his flaws and then he became a joke after the Raptors job.  Nice comments though.

Now he respects us?  I'm glad he made the comments but the memories still sting.  He even held a grudge when he didn't play Pierce and Walker in the all-star game...

Whatever.

While venting I forgot to add in the sexual harassment when he was gm of Knicks.  Not only did he destroy that team but apparently doesn't know how to treat women either
