With all the picks coming in the next 2 years i thought we will try to get decent free agents at 2016... should we offer a max deal to leonard? Is he a cornerstone player?

Yes. Leonard is a budding star.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

He's a restricted free agent, so it's only worth trying to sign him to an offer sheet if you can make him an offer that the Spurs can refuse.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
A max contract is obvious for Leonard. His stats may not be jaw dropping, but he is a fantastic player who plays big when it matters. The more of his attitude you have spreading throughout our locker room, the better. If we can pick up a defensive oriented center as well, our defense will be all-world.

I think hes good. But he's not Paul Piere good, and thats what we need at the 3.

There is a strong chance KL is a product of the spurs system. And if not in the system he will falter.

Offer Khawi Max and draft Okafor and WCS

Smart
Avery or Young
Khawi
Okafor
WCS

Ridiculously young talented defensive team.

He's going nowhere, but Ainge will absolutely offer him a max even if it's a quick phone call.
