For the longest time I have supported the idea of trading away anybody on our team that's worth a lick and hope that the Ping-Pong balls reward us. However, in the past couple weeks this team has shown some promise and last night after we beat the Hawks I have completely reversed my stance on this season.

We are a couple games out of the 8th spot in the East and I would like to see Ainge add some pieces as opposed to subtracting them and see if we can't make a second half push. Whether it's acquiring Kanter from the Jazz or Dragic from the Suns I think we need to make a move and see if we can't get these youngsters some playoff experience.

Kanter doesn't move the needle, but Dragic might, if you don't have to give up Bradley and/or Bass.  If you do, then it's sort of a lateral move, as well as his player option being a big problem.

I'm on board tho if we can package all our spare parts and a bajillion draft picks for boogie.

I'd trade Bass for Dragic in a second. If we are trying to move Bass for a 2nd rounder anyway then why not use him in a package for Dragic? I'd rather package him for someone who can help right now or just keep him because trading him for a 2nd rounder seems like a waste of time to me.

Of course I'd like to get Cousins but I don't think Karl's first move as Coach of the Kings is going to be to unload their best player, not exactly a good first impression.

Awwwwwww come on!!!!!!

I was just getting used to this tanking and losing for the future and getting draft picks thing and NOW you want to switch back to cheering for wins and dreaming of the playoffs?

Ohhhh, okay, but I am not switching back to cheering for tanking. I M NOT GOING TO DO IT!!!!!

Yeah, boogie ship has sailed, if it ever really existed.  I can dream though.

Bradley, Bass,LAC pick,CLE pick for Dragic and TJ Warren.

Never trade away any player to improve your draft position, I would have thought as Celtic fans we would have learned that lesson by now, we always get screwed by the ping pong balls!!

Win or lose I'm fine either way as long as they choose a direction. The one thing I don't want to do is make the playoffs with a bunch of guys that wont be here next year. That sounds like a huge mistake to me.

I can live with something like moving Prince, Bass and Thorton for Kanter and Dragic as long as we have long term plans with them or even use them as assets to get better players.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
My problem is that we can't compete.
People want to make the playoffs as a 30-32 win team?
32 wins 50 losses and 75% of our roster will be gone within 6 months?

We still stink. Some wins on the road vs medicore western conf teams and a lucky win at home don't stop us from being a 30 win team in one of the worst Eastern Conferences in recent history.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

This is how I feel towards fans who think the Celtics should be winning fewer games.

Ha at least we don't have him as an owner.  I guess if we have to win it's fine as long as Marcus gets minutes and we don't clog our cap chasing the 6 seed.  I'd really like Hezonja, Porzingis or Johnson though....

the recent wins by the celtics are fools gold. this team will be ousted in the first round in no time. i dont see the point.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

As long as in the second half, there's no Thorton or Bass or Prince taking up the minutes, and we're winning because of Smart, Sully, Young, Kelly. Then I'm all for a playoff run. If we're winning games because tayshaun bass and Thornton and Evan turner are playing good and we suppose teams and make the playoffs with an under .509btecord. I will be be heated.

+1  The Eastern Conference is embarrassing. It's too bad they can't take 10 team from the west and 6 from the east for the playoffs. I think it is a fait accompli though that this team is going for the playoffs. Seeing Prince and Thornton getting more minutes than Smart tells me so. With the 15th pick in the 2015 NBA draft, the Boston Celtics select.....
