I wonder what a crew of:

Bledsoe
Start
Butler
Sully
Jordan

They sure as heck, won't win a title.  They would be decent and make the playoffs though but lose.

I hope DA is more patient than this idea.

Well I think that team is closer than you think. I said at the bottom of that starting 5 that Smart would have be a top 10 player.
But if you agree with most pundits that Golden State are title favorites then the listed team is pretty nasty in a  7 game series vs GSW and the other starting line ups in the east.

In fact I'd rather sign Hibbert over Jordan and let Sully stretch opposing PF's away from the basket to let Hibbert utilize his post game.

Think I'd take Jordan. Personal preference... but he's having a good year, is 2 years younger, and have had concerns about Hibbert since last season. Team would probably be among the better teams in the East, but we'd need a loaded bench to get to ECF. Hawks are a good model, as of right now, as to what it takes to succeed. And they're a deep, well-balanced team.

I do not think the team needs to give out a Max contract unless there is a franchise level star available.  The Celtics (as currently put together) are not going to be attractive to that type of FA.

Most of the players being discussed are not that level.  They are mostly fringe stars or a player having a career year.

Doesn't mean the Celtics can not offer big contracts to good young players (Like Monroe).

I just don't see the Max FA out there that is both worth the contract and will want to come to join the current talent on the Celtics.
