I like he's getting assets and focusing on the draft. I like he's getting something for players he has no interest anymore in committing to long term. I also like he's sending these guys to solid organizations with a chance at success and to play in more meaningful games in April/May.

Yet, what I really really like is that danny is sending all these guys to teams competing with the clippers for playoff spots. I believe that is an underrated aspect of the three deals he's done.

Rondo to Dallas
Green to Memphis
Wright to Phoenix

In the summer there was talk of bass to GS. Wouldnt be surprised to see a couple other vets shipped to the West elite not named LAC.

I highly doubt Danny would do that. He's trying to make good trades and get return or his assets. He can't really control the clips making the playoffs, and realistically they probably will anyway.

The other layer to this is that Danny is dealing with old friends Ryan McDonough, Rick Carlisle, and Chris Wallace.

Interesting thought.  I think that Danny is conscious about sending our guys to good situations.

Also, I think it helps that he's got some familiarity with the various front offices.  He worked with Donny Nelson (Dallas) on the Antoine and KO deals, and played with Carlisle; Chris Wallace (Memphis) has Celtics connections, and there were the recent Courtney Lee and Fab Melo trades; and Ryan McDonough (Phoenix) obviously worked for the Celtics before taking over the Suns.

Edit:  What EB said.

I was thinking the same thing. Especially because it is a possibility the Clippers miss the playoffs. They are badly in need of a wing. The Hawes/Baby signings have been busts. Griffin and Jordan still are not a very good pair to mesh with. Not to mention their competitors that are right behind them are starting to close in on the playoff race. OKC is knocking on the door and Phoenix isn't going away. Not to mention Phoenix can better themselves with all the picks they have.

The Clips are in trouble. Even if they do make the playoffs this year, I'm 100% sure they're not making a run.

I had this feeling just off the Mavs trade alone,  Suns and Grizzlies deal confirmed it pretty much.
