I hate to see Bass go, but I guess it's for the best, and Bass deserves to be with a contender, he is very underrated IMO. Anyways...

BOS trades Bass
BOS receives Thomas Robinson and either Meyers Leonard or a pick

POR trades Thomas Robinson and either Meyers Leonard or a pick
POR receives Bass

Thoughts? Hate it? Like it? Meh?

Meh.  I do like the idea of Meyers Leonard, though. I think he still has some potential as a starting 5 possibly.

Not a bad trade, pretty fair.  I would not do it though, as it just further clutters the front court.  I like Leonard, but I would rather trade Bass for a trade exception and a pick so that there would be more minutes for Sully, KO, Wright, and Zeller.
2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby

I do like that return for Bass. I hope we flip Wright for some kind of asset before the deadline, too, and that would make room in the front court for Leonard and Robinson alongside Sully, KO & Zeller. Good diversity of skills among that group, and they are all players that could be developed and/or flipped in the future.

No brainer!! I'd do the deal in a heart beat. It doesn't matter if the front court is crowded. Keep trading players/acquiring assets! Teams will be looking for backup depth at C. Ainge can turn Robinson & Leonard into 2 second rd picks at the very least. He could also get a traded player exception (TPE) from another team, and then do another trade that combines that TPE w/ the Rondo TPE (13 mil) to create a larger TPE and go after a player with a higher salary. Bass to POR, MEM, OKC, or any team with assets (preferably a contender) works for me! Love what he's done and the effort he's put in here in BOS but I think it's best both he and the Celtics part ways.
