Expiring contract.  Guy that can help playoff teams.  Hold the phones Danny.

Resign Bass on a friendly contract but with length and bass has trade veto power.
Brandon Bass not THAT good, better suited as big off bench.  sure

But a solid vet who brings it every night no matter what the minutes.  What can a sully & bradley etc package get us since we are full rebuild mode?  Bass plays hard, does a good job when in and can teach the young guys.  Now I've been barking for him to be traded for quite some time due to log jam at pf spot.  Now that rondo and green are gone.   To me move Sully, he can get us something good, not sure how much better his game can get.  Bass works and seems to have a good attitude.   When Rondo got traded you saw lots of players both vets and young guys look deflated.  Bass, as tommy would say, brought his lunch pail.  Sully is a starting pf, bring in a better center, defensive minded, start KO who I think is going to break out.  Bass gives you backup pf minutes and doesn't complain.  Sully and x package brings back (the center, option2 etc)

And no Bass isn't THE x factor, or our best pf.  He is a solid vet.  We need someone to bring all the young ones up the right way

Bass will be 30  by the end of the season. He's not going to want to stay on a rebuild team during his last few good years.

If KG calls it quits with playing, DA should bring him in as a coach defensive coach.

We are rebuilding and you want DA to move two 24y.o. but keep Bass? Makes sense.

I like Bass (pro all the way) but since DA has dragged me down a road I never wanted to go, he has to be sent on his way. He can stay as a mentor/leader/vet but that's a waste and I'm not sure he wants that role, he's far too good to only do that all while arguing to get 20mins, everyone knows he deserves on almost any team.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Make him a break in case of emergency insurance player coach like how Tyronne Lue was always groomed to be our back up, last chance we-need someone-for-the-playoffs-who-knows-the-sets PG back in the big three days.

If Olynyk or Zeller break down right before the playoffs insert KG in to plug in the gaps.

Errrr... why would we keep Bass?  If he has trade value, then trade him on!  Good solid player, playing for a team that is rebuilding.  His contract expires at the end of the year,  I don't see us signing him up long term when we will need those cap dollars to attract a big free agent star (if we can even land one).

It rhymes!

We've seen weirder things. Nick Young went to L.A..

I like our blue collar culture. Bass, Crowder, Smart, Bradley...more this please.

The recent trades make me think we are going to be trading him for a second round pick.  Bass might be interested to stay in Boston for a longer contract.   If we are blowing it up why not use sully to go after a star? Sully is gone Kelly starts and bass off bench

Bass is steady good guy.   Without his services the Wins will surely shrink .

You keep him and Stevens feels the pressure to play him over young players Danny brings in. That's not good for anyone.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

agreed. he catches alot of flak here but he is a good pick n pop shooter coming off the bench. he is not scared to get underneath the basket and go to the hoop even though he is not made for it. he's not the best rebounder of defensive player though. a good asset for a playoff team. we do not need him anymore since KG was traded. continue the rebuild with all our young pups. EMBRACE THE TANK!
LET'S GO CELTICS!

In what world does it make sense for a rebuilding team to re-sign a role player reserve and give him a no-trade clause?  Do you realize exactly how rare no-trade clauses are?

Bass isn't even eligible for a no-trade clause. Only players with 10 years of service, the last 5 of which have been with the same team, are eligible.

But I wouldn't mind re-signing Bass to a cheap 2 or 3 year deal. He'd provide some veteran experience and professionalism to a team otherwise severely lacking in that department. I doubt Bass will be interested, though. I expect there will be enough contenders out there willing to offer Bass a portion of their MLE, who could use his services.
