  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Anyone notice that recently there are a number of Celticsblog users that share many of the same linguistic tendencies? What else do they share?

-similar opinions on certain players.
-similar opinions of Brad Stevens.
-similar spelling, vocabulary and writing style.

What's the underlying theme or continuing trend with these users?
They all hate Rondo.
*Say he can't play defense
*Say he pounds the ball
*Say he doesn't fit in the Stevens system

I swear, these posters are so similar that I'd bet $1000 that they are all the same person.

Long story short, I think Celticsblog may have a troll infection.

Anyone else share similar sentiments?

I think it's important to get it out there.
I'd also like to know if others share my sentiments.

Do you think what I'm saying might be true?

It could be one or two people planted here amongst us with the goal of seeding just enough doubt and frustration amongst the fanbase to set up Rondo being traded to the Lakers in Febuary.

Even TMac thinks that the Celtics' roster is a carcass - with the buzzards of the NBA freely being able to pick off our remains.

This is a GOOD team here, with Rondo and Smart and everyone healthy. This is a PLAYOFF team, I believe.

This is a team that, as long as they compete - will draw some pieces here next summer.

Stars, when looking for potential moves next summer - should be looking at fit, TRADITION, PG status, youth, coaching, management and competitiveness.

BOS, with our roster as is now - has ALL of those things.

I think it's more likely these people you're talking about (I've noticed it too) are just very young.

Likely in the 14-16 year old range and don't really know what they're talking about.

I don't feel it's a big problem here, but trolling is just a way for people to feel powerful and is relatively harmless in the big scheme of things.  I think moderators do a good job finding the big offenders.  My pet peeve, the knee-jerk ("player sucks") reactions to a bad play on the game threads I have always thought are from younger fans who don't see the long term nature of player assessment rather than trolling.  But if it's trolling - nice work! - as it does irritate me.

Sorry, I don't mean trolling as in 'baiting'- I mean trolling as in the one person is creating multiple usernames and then replying to his own threads, backing up his own ideas and thoughts with those usernames to wage war on Rondo and make his own ridiculous opinions seem more valid- so he's not the only one suggesting that we start Marcus Smart over Rondo etc.

Like the OP states - it centers around Rondo.

In the Internet age we live in now, we all forget stuff....amazing performances by players are tossed aside and we sometimes focus on the bad.

Rajon Rondo had me planted firmly in his corner after that 2009-10 playoff performance vs Lebron's Cavs. We were supposed to get ran over by CLE that year...they were running roughshod through the league and LeBron was unstoppable.

Enter Rajon.

Rajon MADE LeBron game-plan for HIM...not the otherway around. Rondo's stepped up play that series was the difference maker. It could also be said that BOS (and Rondo, especially) was the main reason why a frustrated LeBron bolted from CLE.

And he couldn't shoot then, either.

Rondo showed me right there that we have a special player...a once-in-a-lifetime one. For all his warts he lays it on the line EVERY night...even most recently playing with a screw in his hand because his team needed him.

We are now 3-3, after a very rough 6 games against mostly quality opponents and opposing frontlines in HOU, DAL, Indy AND CHI.

As this team goes forward, I sincerely hope that Danny places pieces around Rondo so he can prove to the naysayers that he CAN win in BOS, as the MAIN MAN.

Wow the amount of pomp in this thread is insane.

Oh someone has a different opinion as you? Lets label all people with that particular opinion as someone who is "12-14 years old" and unintelligent and bad at grammar.

Get over yourself.
